As you can see XLX is not there. That’s because XLX is a reflector not a protocol. When making a call through the D-STAR Gateway it is best to use DCS. So to connect to the XLX097 reflector your URCALL will be DCS097.

Know Your Call Sign and Registration: Ensure that your D-STAR call sign is registered. This is typically done through your local D-STAR repeater administrator or the D-STAR gateway registration system. Without a registered call sign, you won’t be able to use D-STAR networks.

Identify the XLX097 = DCS097 Reflector: Determine the XLX097B = DCS097 reflector you want to connect to, including the module you wish to use. XLX = DCS097B reflectors typically have several modules, (A, B, C, etc.), each functioning as a separate conference room. Example: XLX097B=DCS097B (where 097 is the reflector number, and B is the module).

Set Up Your Radio: URCALL: Set this to the reflector and module you want to connect to. For example, DCS097B (to connect to module B of reflector 097). RPT1: Set this to the callsign of the local repeater or hotspot you’re accessing, followed by a space and the letter “C” (for example, REPEATER C OR HOTSPOT C.). RPT2: Set this to the callsign of the local repeaters or hotspots gateway, usually followed by a space and the letter “G” (for example, REPEATER G). Mycall: This should be your registered call sign.

Use the Link Command: To link to the DCS097BL reflector, you’ll usually need to send a link command. This is typically done by setting the URCALL to DCS097BL where 097 is the reflector number, B is the module, and L stands for Link.

Transmit: After setting the link command, key your radio for a second or two to send the command. Your radio should respond with a confirmation if the link is successful.

Check the Connection: Once linked, you can set the URCALL to CQCQCQ to start using the reflector. Your voice will now go through the XLX097B reflector and be heard by everyone connected to that module.

Unlinking: To unlink from the reflector, set URCALL to DCS097U where 097 is the reflector number, and U stand for Unlink). Key the radio to send the command.

Additional Considerations: XLX Reflector Dashboard: You can often monitor the reflector activity via this link FDMR Monitor – Linked Systems (newenglanddigitalradio.com) or XLX097 Reflector Dashboard (newenglanddigitalradio.com) .
